You know summer is almost here when most of your daily meals consist of smoothies and salads (or by looking outside of the window and seeing all of this beautiful rain and cloud in some cases...). But at least it's not freezing cold, because believe it or not, but I just read that on this day (3rd of June), 40 years ago it was snowing in UK! So I can't really moan about a bit of rain, eyy?

Also, for some really bizarre reason, I feel like my days got shorter, not longer and I'm constantly running out of time. To be honest, a lot of that is probably related to the fact that I would stay up until stupid o'clock every day, starring at the computer screen and discovering all the dark corners of Photoshop, then 'just one more quick look' at this social media site, and then one more here and there... and then...BOOOM! It's 2am and I'm due to be awake in 4 hours in order to get into this dark place, that so many of us have to go but don't want to, and want to destroy but can't (yet...) aka work. On these particular mornings, where you don't even have a time to brush your hair (I've got a short hair, so doesn't apply to me really that much) or to look for a matching pair of socks (don't judge me, we all have been there!), liquid breakfast is the only option.

And what a better liquid to start your day with (unless you like to start with bourbon, but then you may, or may not, have a tiny problem) than a delicious, refreshing and nutritious smoothie. Even better if you have one of the cute jars you can pour it into (I've mention my excitement for jars in my previous post).

I normally do add some 'super foods' stuff into my smoothies, just because it makes me feel like I've done something really good for myself, and you never know, it may work! But also, because I genuinely like the taste of them and they are bursting with nutrients. In the case of this handsome little fella, I went for Acai powder, which goes really well with anything that contains berries, but it's totally optional. In case if you are scratching your head and wondering what is Acai powder...

Acai berries are one of the most nutrient packed berries on the planet. Grown on a palm tree known to Brazilians as the ‘Tree of Life’ deep in the Amazon rain forest, this exotic berry comes with an array of amazing health benefits.Playing host to a potent mix of essential B vitamins, minerals and electrolytes means that Acai acts as the perfect work-out buddy.  And if you’re after something more than an energy booster, the Acai berry has also been shown to strengthen the immune system (whoop!), protect against wrinkles (yayyy!), and support the body in detoxification. Pretty awesome, huh?

Give it a go, and do your happy dance. It's Friday!
