Baked doughnuts with chocolate glaze

These baked doughnuts are made with wholemeal flour and are covered in dark chocolate glaze. Delicious, light and fluffy texture, ready in less than 30 minutes!

  • 256 g wholemeal flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 120 ml maple syrup
  • 125 g almond yogurt
  • 250 ml almond milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 100 g dark chocolate (min 70% cocoa solids) melted


  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180 C (fan). Spray your doughnuts molds/ tin with baking spray/ oil and set aside.

  2. In a large bowl, combine together the wholemeal flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. In a separate bowl, mix together maple syrup, yogurt, milk and vanilla paste. Add wet ingredients into dry ones, and mix until just combined.

  3. Transfer the batter into a piping bag and pipe it into the prepared moulds/tins. Place in the oven and bake for 15 minutes. Take out of the oven and allow to cool for about 10 minutes.

  4. Dip doughnuts into melted dark chocolate to create the glaze. Use soe decorative sprinkles if desired.
